4 Patch Posy Quilt

I have completed two quilts, and have a couple of matching single quilt tops awaiting finishing off.  Typical of me then, to see something on a quilting web site that really caught my attention.  I think in America they are called Stack and Whack quilts....but I will stick to 4 Patch Posy as it sounds so much nicer!  I had bought a panel of fabric some time ago, but when I saw a length on sale that consisted of four more panels of the same fabric I immediately knew it would be ideal.  So yesterday I 'stacked' my four layers and began carefully cutting 3" strips across the panel, and then the strips into 3" squares.  I couldn't resist having a 'play' arranging the sets of four squares into blocks before I had finished all my cutting.

Today I finished cutting all my squares and have started sewing them together.  They will need a border, but I am unsure what colour to choose.  I have tried one square with a green border - but not sure if I will have enough of that colour to complete the required number of blocks I will need.  I will have a 'play' on my design board to see what might work.  I will have enough blocks to have two rows around the central panel with perhaps enough spares to make a cushion.  My idea was for this to be a wall hanging, but it is turning out much larger than I expected and may well end up a full sized quilt!
