Wall Panel

Well I have had quite a bit of quilting practice now and am much happier with the results although I still find the odd occasion when the thread breaks for no reason that I can see.  I finished quilting my wall panel today and rather than use a pantograph I free motion quilted a random 'leaf and loop' pattern in the 'meanders' and did not quilt the circular pieces.
I may 'stitch in the ditch' around the semi-circles using my ordinary sewing machine as I didn't feel confident enough to do it on the frame.  I have seen people use templates to quilt circles - but I am still not getting even sized stitches yet.  I am sure I will improve over time.  I have now trimmed it so that it is ready for finishing off.  As this is an 'art quilt' I am adding facings rather than binding and have looked at a number of tutorials on the web - but am going to go with this one.  Hubby is going to make me a wooden frame for the wall so that I can velcro a quilt to it.  This means I can make a number of wall hangings for my dining room and change them as and when I feel like it!
