I am mixing 'carry on quilting' on my Dutch Cottage quilt with making my scrappy blocks. When I tire of heaving my quilt through the machine I make one or two blocks from my scraps. I am adding the sashing and corner posts to two sides to form each block. I am amazed at how good these look. As I have not yet made that many quilts, my fabrics are of quite a limited palette, and so I think these will work quite well. I will make the quilt as large as I have sashing strips - as I only had a yard piece, so it will be interesting to see how many blocks I will manage to make. I cut the scrappy blocks to 6.5" Each of the corner pieces are of a different fabric that will not feature in the central blocks as they came from a swap and I have over 100, so should have enough!
