Mystery Quilt Clue #7

Well what a disappointment......clue #7 was issued early and was the final one!  Loads to do all in one clue.  Although a little upset that the final clue was also the reveal (wanted it to last longer) I can understand why Bonnie had to finish because of her very busy and hectic life.
I love the look of Bonnie's finished quilt that she has now displayed on her web site, but so far I am not pleased with how mine looks.  I have never done anything this 'scrappy' before, and I think my quilt blocks are suffering from too few fabrics.  I only have about five different fabrics for each colour set - apart from the neutrals.  I also think my blocks would have looked better with the colours being closer in tonal value. I still count myself as being a 'newbie' and therefore just do not have bins full of scraps to hand.  I have had to buy lots of small amounts rather than rely on what I already have and have therefore found this to be quite an expensive quilt to make.

I have spent a lot of time laying out all the elements to make the large blocks.  This is because I don't want too many repeats of fabrics in one block ( not easy because of limited scrappyness!!)  I also made a mistake in the first of the 9 sashing blocks using the wrong colour for the centre piece!  So I have felt as though I have undone more than I have sewn today!  I also made another mistake by not checking and trimming to size some of my elements from the previous clues and had to undo because of mis-matched seams.  I feel at this stage somewhat over whelmed by the sheer task of sewing all these pieces together.  I think this is going to take me some time as my enthusiasm seems to have waned.
