We have a new addition to our household by the name of Oskar. We are gradually feeding him up as he was found under a hedge, apparently abandoned by his mother who is a feral farm cat. Apparently the mother cat has a habit of moving her kittens about but she left this one on his own for some reason! He is an absolute softy, sitting on our laps and purring away and has not been upset by a move to a new home. Even the visit to the vet went without any problems. As he is underweight he will have to wait his vaccinations for a little while longer, but at least he can be wormed using very small dosages. I am hopeful that he will have gained enough weight in the two weeks before the next vet appointment. He is now showing more of his character and has started to play with a felt ball I made for him. It is 7 years since our last cat passed away, and we have been a fluff free house in that time......(she was a persian) so I have been busy making a chair cover as already Oskar has claimed the chairs in the 'garden' room as his own, I use a foot stool when I sit in one of the chairs and he has already learnt to jump up onto the chair by way of the 'step'. He can then get across a coffee table onto the other chair if he feels like it!

So yesterday I set to and made a patchwork cat chair pad using some scraps of quilting material and fleece for the backing. I also used wadding, so the pad is quite warm to the touch....and Oskar has found it to his liking!
