Back again

I have not posted for quite a while, but I have still been sewing and keeping myself busy with other crafty projects.......I have just forgotten to post pictures of my progress!

I have been back to the bi monthly quilting group after a break of a year (due to my hip replacement op) and last week spent the two hours - apart from chatting - cutting small 1.25" squares from my small scraps to sew together in a block of 4 that will finish 2".  These are to form the corners of my sashing for my scrappy star quilt blocks.  I then spent a few hours chain stitching to join the little squares together.  Quite enjoyable. I had selected a white with random spotty lines for the sashing, but once cut felt it was too thin.  So a trip to the nearest fabric shop resulted in a happy time searching for something else....and of course I ended up buying even more fabric to add to my stash! I have enough finished blocks for 7 rows of 9 blocks.....I have really enjoyed creating these from my scraps, but have had to cut into my stash quite a bit.  I am undecided whether to make this quilt larger.  I have now sewn one row together, but will have to quickly make my mind up soon as if I add more blocks I will need to swap some around to keep them all looking very scrappy - as otherwise I will end up with the later rows looking too similar.
