Christmas Tree Decorations

I was asked by my daughter if I could help with a Christmas Project (she is the Heritage Manager for LLanthony Secunda Priory, Gloucester ) The idea is to decorate a Christmas Tree with a theme to reflect the Priory and its history.  We set up a shared Pinterest board for ideas as getting together is always difficult as we are a 3 hour drive apart!  Hubby drove me to Empress Mills in Colne to buy some wadding last week and as the traffic through the town is always horrendous we took a more circuitous route back across country and decided to make a further detour to Longridge to call at another quilt shop to seek out some material with a medieval theme.  It was hubby who spotted the material I eventually bought.
I have now cut out the individual medallions and sandwiched two together with a layer of wadding, stiffening, and wadding.  I spray stuck the layers together and did a zig zag stitch all the way around over a length of doubled cotton knitting yarn.  My later efforts are better than my first attempts.  I have added some gold beads in the centres, and quilted some areas.  I hope my daughter will find these useful - if not they will do for my own Christmas Tree, as they will be safer than glass baubles now that I have a kitten!  Oskar is getting quite big now at 5 months old......and he is going to be a 'killer'!!
