Finally I had the Bonnie Hunter En Provence Mystery Quilt loaded. Quite a task as I had never quilted anything this large on a frame before. I had drawn out a pantograph design that I thought would look good. Did the first row and ran out of bobbin thread 3/4 of the way across! Couldn't believe it. I then decided the pattern would be too dense and busy for this quilt, so spent a couple of hours on and off unpicking the first row!
I decided to select a much simpler design I had used before a couple of times. I still found the bottom bobbins didn't last long, only about a row and a half. Rather a bother keep winding new ones and having to struggle to get to the bobbin holder in the middle of a row. My bottom thread was obviously thicker than I have used before. I will revert to using bottom line for my next quilt. I was so glad when I finally finished and took the quilt off the frame. Before I went to bed I cut 10 lengths of magenta material for the binding, and trimmed the quilt. Not perfectly square, but near enough for me. Still not sure what I will do with this quilt when it is finished.
Progress was seriously impeded throughout the day by my kitten/cat Oskar. He is now 6 months old and is still into everything....especially anything that moves.
