I finished my scrappy stars quilt a couple of days ago. I am pleased with the finished result. The quilt could have done with perhaps two more rows to make it completely cover our king size bed, but I think it looks OK folded over to show off the underside which matches the colours of our bedding and curtains. I am hoping hubby will not complain of being cold now. If anything I am too hot sleeping with the quilt on the bed. Our bed frame holds two single mattresses making it a king size bed, so we each have a single quilt to sleep under. My solution will be to replace my 13.5 tog rated quilt with one of a lower tog rating.....then hopefully hubby will still be warm enough but I will be more comfortable. I did notice the extra weight on top of me though! When I was a child we used to sleep under a sheet, two blankets, a bedspread and an eiderdown.....and were well tucked in......I used to hate the restricted feeling and always un-tucked every thing at some point. We were first introduced to feather and down quilts when holidaying in Germany in the 60's. When I married I asked for a feather and down quilt for a wedding present....and have never wanted to sleep under blankets again!
