After Bonnie Hunter's reveal for her latest Mystery Quilt I was undecided what to do. The quilt was 'on point' and as I had never done one like that before thought I would give it a go by doing a small lap quilt. I completed a few more elements and began putting it together - but decided I didn't like how the edge fills looked. I was not used to using such large pieces of fabric as 'fills'. After some consideration my decision was to take what I had done apart and put aside the pieces until I had thought out what to do with them. In the end I used the flying geese units I had already done in another project (a bag for my sat nav!) and the rest I thought I could use in a different way.
So here is where I am up to. I have used some of the elements from the latest Mystery Quilt, and added some other elements from Bonnie's Celtic Solstice quilt pattern. I am not making this 'very scrappy' - only using two different fabrics for the turquoise, and four for the orange. I have run out of the orange batik, so have bought another orange fabric instead ( I couldn't source a similar batik yesterday!)
I will make this my project to do at my quilting group. I will cut enough pieces to make a lap quilt initially - then if I have enough fabric to make it larger I might do that - but we shall see.
