Bobbin holder

I have been busy putting new spangles on the old lace bobbins I was given the other week.  I had to order some new beads as  the glass beads I took off were too large and a bit ugly, and the ones I had were not the right size either.  I am happy with the way the bobbins look now as they are of a similar spangle style to the one I was given by my lace teacher at the last meeting before Christmas.  I still have quite a few more to do but I am awaiting another order of some millefiori beads.  I was looking for some 2mm beads in a packet of mixed colours - but they just don't seem to be 'out there'.  The beads I wanted are the toho Japanese beads as they are uniform in shape and size - but they appear to be only sold in single colours.  As they are expensive I couldn't justify buying a variety of single colours.  So I am having to make do with what I have.
After completing a few of the bobbins I began to think about how I would store them.  I noticed a few of the ladies from the lace group had fabric zip bags to hold their bobbins - but the ones I saw for sale didn't appeal to me.  I contemplated making my own, but knew it would be time consuming and the likely hood of me not liking the finished result was high!  In the end I did some searching on line and found the ideal solution....a zipped bag for hold coloured pencils.  After much deliberation I decided to risk it.  When it arrived I was over the moon!  The quality was superb, and the elastic to hold the pencils in place was just right for holding my bobbins.  I haven't added the supplied shoulder strap as I don't see the need.  This case can hold 120 pencils - so just in case I end up with more bobbins I have ordered another one (in a different colourway).  I have some continental bobbins but they are too fat the fit the elastic slots, so they will have to stay stored in a plastic box for the time being.
