Today I placed 4 strips of fabric cut across the width to form a square on my design wall. I have now placed my pieces and started to make some blocks to fill the gaps. The blocks are rather random in size depending on where I found the instructions - or how I made them up! So far I have done Alaska, (top row) Bears Paw, (second row), snowball and some flying geese. 'Northern Lights' (third row) and 'Fox and Geese' (bottom row). I have one large area where I think I will do 'Grandmothers Puzzle' and finally make some smaller 3" blocks to fill more gaps. Hopefully once I have done those I can start to join everything together with my background strips. That will be quite a challenge I should imagine. The overall effect will be quite random in the middle, but everything should line up around the edges. I am enjoying this so far!
