Finished top

I rushed to finish this top yesterday so that I could take it to my quilting group to show my efforts.  The lady who had shown her piece of this material last time was there and admitted that she hadn't begun hers yet.  She said she was unsure how she was going to cut up the pieces but  I think my efforts will have given her the 'push' to forge ahead with hers.  She did say she was going to cut her panel pieces to specific sizes to fit the quilt pattern she wants to make but admitted she might lose some of the essence of the panels by doing that as they would be much smaller.

I had certainly found it difficult getting all my panels pieced together in what I hoped was a pleasing manner.  I have kept the edges of each block around the edge in line ( well as best I could ) and filled the spaces with blocks.  There is just once area near the top left that looks a bit 'gappy' if you get my drift.  I had to make some more infil blocks last night to enable me to sew together the last bit.  So there are more trees than planned and two small 'friendship' blocks (bottom left).  I also removed the 'Alaska' block that was top left and replaced with one called 'Rocky Mountain Puzzle'.  I am going to leave this now for a while until I have done some more tops - then I will set up my machine to do the quilting.
