There is one block here that stands out like a sore thumb! The reason obviously is that there are no other blocks with that combination of fabric. I will have to use more of this in the blocks to come otherwise I will have to re-do this block. There are also two on the left with pins to mark the fact that they finished just slightly less that the 3.5" along one side...but they should sew in with care - thus the pins to remind me! Some of these blocks are very simple, but there were one or two that were quite complicated and tricky to do.
The last block of the month was the central one. This came as a bit of a surprise as I wasn't expecting it! It finished at 18.5". It was quite tricky in places and I actually took two days to finish it. Getting the alignment of the outer borders with the white middle sections was the hardest part, and one side I ended up hand sewing to get the points to match. I was able to include 7 different fabrics, so it should work well with all the little 3.5" dark ones that I have already done. I am a little worried now about how much of my darkest blue I have left - but hopefully I will have enough. I have a slightly less dark, dark blue that I could use for some blocks if I did run out.
