Scrappy Quilt

This must surely be the 'ultimate' scrappy quilt.  I have used up all my orphan blocks and bits and pieces and put them together with a whole load of scraps that I have been given.  I didn't follow a plan or pattern.  I just used my largest pieces as a base for a 9" block.  I then added random bits so that I had something larger than the 9.5" and then used a square to cut the block to size.  So this quilt is 5 x 5 blocks square. i.e. 25 x 9.5" blocks.  I didn't care about lining up, matching points or getting things aligned in general apart from the final joining together - but even then they were not 'perfect'!!

I think the final effect is strangely pleasing, but it is interesting to see what colours are not in this quilt - I have only been quilting a few years, so I have been using very limited colour palettes obviously.  It is only those fabrics that I have been given that add a bit of zing to this quilt.

I will back this with fleece and it will be donated to charity.  I hope someone will like it!
