I finally finished my 'Call of the Wild' baby quilt. I machined my Granddaughter's name and date of birth at the bottom of the quilt in white so that it is not obvious when looking generally at the quilt. I did an overall random wavy line and snowflake pattern for the quilting that worked really well I thought.
The back of the quilt gave me a bit of a headache until I came up with the final solution - joining two larger panels together and adding two white strips at the sides. The excess that was cut off from the panels was used for the binding.
Below is a close up showing the detail of the quilting.
The quilt was admired by everyone who saw it at my quilting group last month and I am already on the look out for another panel (different) just in case my daughter has another child!! I did enjoy doing this quilt and it is now all wrapped up ready to give as a Christmas gift.
