I made this pouch today for the August Challenge on the Sew Sweetness site. The pattern for the 'Dumpling Pouch' was free and came in 3 sizes.
This is the largest of the 3 patterns and finished approx 10" long and 6" high. Initially I thought I would use the bag to hold my spare wooden lace bobbins that I was keeping in a plastic box - but the bag turned out bigger than I expected and is too large for my bobbins. That seems like an excuse to make another one! The August challenge was to make a bag from a Sew Sweetness pattern and to use animal fabric. I like how this has turned out. I have ordered some more zips as I cannot make any more bags at the moment without zips! It made sense to just order a mixed coloured selection of 22" zips as most bag patterns rely on using oversize zips and cutting them down to size once sewn into the bag.
I like watching the how to do it videos that are available on the Sew Sweetness site - they are very good and easy to follow. As this is such a simple and easy basic bag pattern to make I think I will have a go at seeing how creative I can be with future versions. With my new amazing Pfaff sewing machine I should be able to come up with something really special.
