Christmas Challenge

During the 1980's I used to machine knit.  To earn money whilst at home with the children I knitted things to sell at craft fairs - I never made much money, but what I did earn was ploughed back into 'my business' and kept the children clothed!  Some of my earnings were from designing knitwear and selling the designs to a magazine called 'Profitable Machine Knitting'.  I still have the magazines and the other week looked through them all and was amazed at how many garments and designs I did for them over the space of about 2 years.  The jumper on the left was not one of mine, (November/December 1988) but I always wanted to knit it for myself but never did.  So last week I set up my machine and set off.  Getting my head around using the knitting machine took a while but I finally finished it.  Not happy with the neck ribbing, but as this will only be worn occasionally it will do.  I still had the mylar sheet for my electronic knitting machine that I had prepared all those years ago, and I remembered knitting it for my sister in law - but it was only when I had finished it that I saw some areas where the machine had not quite read the mylar sheet correctly - ie. areas that should have been white, but aren't. However only I will know that!
So now on to other seasonal knitting projects.  My daughter has put in a request for 3!
